How do you perform Skater Jumps?

  • Start in a skating position, with feet together and arms extended forward.
  • Step back with one foot and bend the knee to make a swinging motion.
  • Bring your arms in a horizontal swing next to your body.
  • When you reach the point of swing, push vigorously with your front leg to propel your body into the air.
  • When in the air, straighten your legs and switch sides with the back foot and your arms.
  • Land on your front leg and bend your knee to absorb the impact.
  • This movement requires a lot of coordination.

Common faults

  • Insufficient coordination.
  • Improper landing technique.
  • Back leg not back enough.
  • Insufficient lateral swinging movement with arms.
