How do you perform Curtsy Lunges?

  • Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  • Take a diagonal step back with your right foot.
  • Cross your right leg behind your left leg and lower into a lunge.
  • Lower your right knee to just above the ground.
  • Make sure your left knee stays above your ankle and does not extend past your toes.
  • Return to the starting position and switch legs.
  • You can hold your hands sideways for better stability, although this is not necessary.

Common faults

  • Front knee extends past the toes.
  • Unstable lunge.
  • Hips out of line.
  • Back knee does not reach low enough to just touch the ground.
