How do you perform Squat Jump?

  • Place your feet about shoulder-width apart, with your toes pointing slightly outward.
  • Stand up straight, tighten your abs and glutes, and look straight ahead.
  • Bend your knees until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
  • Pretend to sit on an imaginary chair.
  • Squat down until your legs form a 90-degree angle.
  • Jump up as high as you can while throwing your arms up.
  • Land softly and return to the starting position.

Common faults

  • Not good landing or jumping technique.
  • Misalignment of the knees and hips.
  • Excessive load on the knees.
  • Breathing not controlled.
  • Insufficient control over the movement.
  • Weight too much forward so that you end up on your toes.
  • Hips don’t go low enough.
  • Look at the ground.
