How do you perform Push Up With Dumbbell Tap?

  • Place an object (e.g. dumbbell) on the floor at arm’s length in front of you.
  • Start in a pushup position with your hands under your shoulders and your feet hip-width apart.
  • Lower yourself into a pushup while bending your elbows and lowering your body to the floor.
  • Tighten your abdominal and back muscles and straighten your arms.
  • If you are in a high pumping position, tap the object at the top with one hand.
  • Lower yourself to the starting position and start again with your other hand.
  • Make sure to keep your core engaged throughout the movement and keep your elbows close to your body.

  • Excessive pressure on the neck and shoulders.
  • Incorrect hand placement.
  • Insufficient depth in the push up.
  • Back and hips do not stay in line.
