How do you perform Weighted Sit Up?

  • Sit on the floor, with your legs bent and feet on the floor.
  • Hold a weight against your chest.
  • Lower yourself back until you are completely on the floor.
  • Tighten your abdominal muscles and lift your torso off the ground until you are sitting upright.
  • Repeat the movement.
  • If you wish, you can place a rolled up towel under your lower back to relieve some of the strain.

Common faults

  • Hook the feet behind or under a support.
  • Not a straight back.
  • Not getting straight enough.
  • Taking too heavy a weight.
