  • Start in a standing position with feet wide apart.
  • Hold a weight in one hand.
  • Bend your right knee while keeping your left leg straight.
  • Lower your body down by bending your right leg.
  • Hold the weight against your shoulder.
  • Push back up to the starting position as you lift the weight overhead with your arm straight.

Common faults

  • Not getting deep enough on bent leg.
  • Not keeping the other leg straight.
  • Bending forward too much.
  • Arm unstretched as you raise the weight above your head.
  • Arm not vertically above your head.
