How do you perform Man Maker?

The Man Maker is a powerful full-body exercise that combines push-ups, rows, squats, and shoulder presses.

  • Grab a pair of dumbbells and get into a plank position with your hands on the dumbbells.
  • Perform one push-up, keeping your hands on the dumbbells.
  • Row one dumbbell up toward your side, then place it back on the ground.
  • Repeat the row with the other arm.
  • Jump your feet forward into a squat position.
  • Bring the dumbbells to your shoulders (clean movement), then press them overhead.
  • Lower the dumbbells, return to the plank position, and repeat the sequence.

Common faults

  • Poor push-up technique: your hips drop or your glutes stick up, which puts too much strain on your lower back.
  • You’re using dumbbells that are too heavy.
  • You rotate your torso during the row movement. Keep your hips and shoulders parallel to the ground.
  • You rush through the exercise. Focus on smooth, controlled transitions between each step.
