How do you perform Side Crunches?
Side Crunches are a great exercise to target your oblique muscles and strengthen your core.
- Lie down on your side, for example on your right side.
- Extend your right arm on the ground for stability.
- Place your left hand behind your head.
- Bend your legs slightly for extra balance, if needed.
- Engage your abdominal muscles.
- Lift your upper body sideways, bringing your left elbow toward your left hip.
- Keep your lower body still and focus on contracting your oblique muscles.
- Lower yourself slowly and repeat.
- Exhale as you lift up.
- Inhale as you return to the starting position.
Common faults
- Pulling on your neck. This must be avoided at all costs!
- Using your legs to create momentum.
- Moving or breathing without control.
