How do you perform a Side Jump?

  • Place your feet slightly apart.
  • Bend your legs to jump to the side in a springy motion.
  • Use your arm movements to guide the jump.
  • Land with both feet on the floor on the opposite side of where you jumped.
  • Bend your legs to soften the landing.
  • Repeat the side jump by jumping to the other side.
  • Maintain good posture and make sure you cushion your landing by bending your knees.

Common faults

  • Insufficient coordination with the arms.
  • The knees do not bend enough on takeoff and landing.
  • Push off or land on one foot.
