How do you perform Oblique Twist Squat?

  • Place your feet about shoulder-width apart, with your toes pointing slightly outward.
  • Stand up straight with your hands behind your neck and elbows out to the side.
  • Tighten your abs and glutes and look straight ahead.
  • Bend your knees until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
  • Pretend to sit in an imaginary chair. This is a squat.
  • Keep your back as vertical as possible.
  • Push back up and raise one knee.
  • Bring your opposite elbow to the knee.
  • Clear sides immediately bringing the other elbow against the other knee.
  • When you have performed the movement on both sides, start again with the squat.

Common faults

  • Too much leaning forward posture.
  • Not a full squat when lowering.
  • Elbows do not tap the knees in the upright position.
  • Bad coordination.
