How do you perform Ski Hops?

Ski hops are a fantastic exercise to improve your explosive power, balance, and coordination.

  • Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart.
  • Slightly bend your knees and keep your arms relaxed by your sides.
  • Engage your core and shift your weight slightly forward, as if you’re ready to jump.
  • Jump explosively sideways (left or right), as if you’re hopping over an imaginary line.
  • Land softly on both feet with bent knees to absorb the impact.
  • Immediately jump back to the other side.
  • Keep the rhythm smooth and controlled.
  •

Common faults

  • Not bending your knees enough, which causes you to lose explosiveness and control during landing.
  • No core engagement.
  • Feet placed too close together or too far apart. Hip-width is the most stable.
  • Landing with straight legs, which puts too much strain on them.
  • No rhythm or control. Keep the movement smooth and controlled.
