How do you perform Ski Hops?
Ski hops are a fantastic exercise to improve your explosive power, balance, and coordination.
- Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart.
- Slightly bend your knees and keep your arms relaxed by your sides.
- Engage your core and shift your weight slightly forward, as if you’re ready to jump.
- Jump explosively sideways (left or right), as if you’re hopping over an imaginary line.
- Land softly on both feet with bent knees to absorb the impact.
- Immediately jump back to the other side.
- Keep the rhythm smooth and controlled.

Common faults
- Not bending your knees enough, which causes you to lose explosiveness and control during landing.
- No core engagement.
- Feet placed too close together or too far apart. Hip-width is the most stable.
- Landing with straight legs, which puts too much strain on them.
- No rhythm or control. Keep the movement smooth and controlled.
