How do you perform Weighted Split Squat?

  • Stand up straight with a weight in each hand.
  • Step forward with one foot.
  • Bend your front knee and lower your back knee to (almost) the floor.
  • Push yourself up with your front leg until you are back in the starting position.
  • Keep your abs tight and your back straight.
  • Inhale as you go down and exhale as you come up.

Common faults

  • Poor alignment of the knees and hips.
  • Excessive load on the knees.
  • Breathing not controlled.
    Insufficient trunk stabilization during execution.
