How do you perform Romanian Deadlift?

  • Stand up straight with a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs.
  • Keep your back straight as you push your hips back and lower the dumbbells down your legs.
  • Only bend your hips until you feel a stretch in your hamstrings.
  • Your knees should bend slightly but not too much. This way you relieve the tension in the lower back.
  • Push yourself up by pushing your hips forward and squeezing your buttocks.
  • Keep the dumbbells close to your body and your shoulders pulled back.
  • Keep your abs tight and inhale as you go down.

Common faults

  • Round back during execution.
  • Excessive pressure on the lower back. Bend your knees slightly.
  • Holding weights too far from the body.
