How do you perform Star Jump?

  • Stand up straight with your feet shoulder width apart.
  • Jump up and spread your arms and legs out in an “x” shape.
  • Land softly on the floor with your feet shoulder-width apart.
  • Bend forward slightly and cross your arms in front of you in an “x” shape.
  • Jump up again and spread your arms and legs out in an “x” shape.
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps.
  • Keep your abs tight and your back straight.
  • Inhale as you jump and exhale as you land.

Common faults

  • Not good landing or jumping technique.
  • Not jumping high enough.
  • Not a nice ‘x’ shape with arms and legs.
  • Poor alignment of the knees and hips.
  • Excessive load on the knees. Land softly on your toes and bend your knees.
  • Breathing not controlled.
  • Insufficient coordination.
