How do you perform Weighted Step Up?

  • Stand in front of a raised platform (a step or step).
  • Hold a weight in each hand and bring it against your shoulders.
  • Place one foot on the platform.
  • Push yourself up while bringing the other foot to heel.
  • Come back to the starting position.
  • Repeat with the other leg.
  • Keep your abdominal muscles tense and your back straight.
  • Inhale as you go down and exhale as you go up.

Common faults

  • Excessive strain on the knees.
  • Breathing not controlled.
  • Insufficient trunk stabilization during execution.
