Functional Home Training concept

Functional Home Training’s coaching program has been developed for people who have busy lives and who do not have the time to go to a fitness room, club or professional.

Our program is suitable for all levels and includes various modules including fitness exercises, healthy recipes, healthy habits, relaxation techniques and a community network.

Functional Home Training is a total package. You will have access to fitness workouts, healthy food, healthy habits and relaxation techniques.

Our fitness workouts only take 4 minutes and are specially designed for people who are short on time. They are very easy to follow but deliver amazing results.

All our workouts are shown and our coach does all the exercises together with you.

Every day we program 2 new workouts so you never have to choose or think about your program. With most online programs you have to search yourself in a (limited) list of workouts. Once you’ve done them all, you’re done. Not with us, every day you get a new challenge, all year round.

Our great asset is our community. We have our own communication platform in which our members can connect with each other every day by sharing experiences, photos, videos, etc.

Both subscriptions offer the same total package. You get two new workouts every day, a healthy habit every week, access to our large library of healthy recipes, various relaxation techniques and access to our closed community.

The only difference is that with the WeekPlan the daily workouts remain available for another week. This is because some people cannot/do not want to train every day, but they want to do more workouts on the days when they have more time.

Exercising at home offers many benefits, such as:

  • Functional Home Training is specially designed as an alternative for people who do not have time to go to a gym.
  • You can follow everything at home and the investment is much lower than joining a club or being guided by a Personal Trainer.
  • The video lessons we offer are fully formatted and demonstrated by trainers who work in our gyms. They are professionals but are not next to you as they do during physical classes.
  • You can also opt for a nice mix by, for example, going to a physical fitness or yoga class once or twice a week and following our videos at home the other days of the week. Our program is also a good alternative for when you are travelling.

  • We are convinced that you should train your body as a whole and certainly not focus on one part of it such as the abdomen, legs, buttocks or arms.
  • All our workouts are designed to train according to the Functional Fitness method.
  • The videos are based on the exercises we give to our members in our gyms but taking into account the limited material and space at home.
  • Each workout will train one or more muscles and muscle groups because you also use your body in its entirety in your daily activities.

Functional Home Training was created by the demand of people with a busy schedule who do not always have the time to go to a gym. That’s why we program workouts that last only 4 minutes.

You can also do multiple workouts per day. The choice is yours.

Taking into account the enormous time savings of not having to drive to a gym, you can say that you only need a few minutes every day to work on your total transformation.

Interesting right?

No, you don’t have to. You follow the workouts at your own pace according to your time schedule, your physical condition and your needs.

Still, it’s important to be consistent. Plan for yourself how many days a week you will train and stick to that schedule. The easiest is to insert a fixed time of the day. That could be every morning, every evening or during a break. Stick to that fixed moment and you will notice that you will crave it in the long run.

That’s the only way you get results.

New videos always appear at 00:00 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). For fitness videos, this is daily. Weekly Healthy Habits appear every Monday at 00:00 UTC.

All videos we make available are filmed by our own coaches at their home, in their own living room, their garden or in a nearby park.

Every time we go on a trip or on holiday, we take the recording material with us and film some exercises in a different region.

We try to provide a nice variation in the coaches who guide you and in the training environment.

We currently offer our services in English, French and Dutch. We may expand this offer to more languages. This all has to do with the demand and availability of coaches who are fluent in other languages.

All our videos and audio coaching are authentic. This means that all guidelines and lessons are recorded by our own team. We do not use any translation or speech software.

Fitness at home

You really don’t need a lot of equipment to follow the workouts. Every day we program a workout for which you don’t need any material at all. In addition, we program a second workout for which you do need a weight. That can be a kettlebell, dumbbell or an alternative.

We do not sell material ourselves or have no preference of brand. You can search for the best deal in your area or online.

It is not our intention at all to push you for unnecessarily investments to be able to follow our workouts. With a little imagination you can replace weights such as dumbbells or kettlebells with an alternative. You can fill a plastic bottle or other container with sand, water or pebbles. Search in your house, garage, apartment or basement and see what you can use as a handy replacement for a weight to train with.

Depending on the surface on which you will train, it may be advisable to provide a training mat. You will find them in many colors, materials, sizes and prices. Choose a large mat so that you can lie on it with your entire body.

You can perform our varied workouts anywhere. A spot of approximately 2m x 2m (6 x 6 feet) is sufficient. You can easily follow the videos in your living room, hotel room, in a park or on the beach.

Because our program is designed for people with little time, we do not provide specific warming ourselves.

However, it is definitely recommended to warm up your muscles with simple exercises such as swinging the arms and legs, rolling the knees and hips, stretching the muscles, etc.

You can also do the workout without weights as a warm-up by doing fewer reps and lowering the overall effort. Then you can repeat the same workout again, but with a higher intensity.

The time you need to warm up depends a lot on your own needs.

Every day we publish new videos. The next day they are no longer available, but new ones are already waiting. In this way we provide a new surprise every day.

This is a big difference with other online programs where you can choose from a fixed list with a (limited) number of exercises. In this concept you can view them on different days, but once you’re around, the fun is gone. The number is limited to that fixed list.

At Functional Home Training we program new videos every day, all year round. This makes it more exciting to discover and follow the videos of the day every day. This way we avoid “shopping” for the exercises you prefer to do and skip the others. This way you avoid one-sided workouts.

We want to encourage you to work as much as possible on your full physique and to perform all the exercises as we propose. This way you train in the most efficient way and you will also train those muscles that you would rather not train. Our professional coaches follow a schedule to ensure they incorporate as much variety as possible.

We know from experience that making the entire library or archive available will lead to the situation where some people will look for workouts they prefer or in which certain muscles are trained more. This gives a less good result. We want to encourage everyone to follow the program even if one day a series of exercises is suggested that are less convenient for you.

Get out of your comfort zone and train all muscles in as many ways as possible. In our gyms the members also come to the lesson of the day and they cannot repeat or follow the lesson from the day before the next day, that has already been done 🙂

Healthy nutrition

On our website you can find all the information you need to get started with healthy food. We also offer a whole range of healthy recipes that are accessible to everyone and easy to prepare. No, not at all. Slimming products only have a temporary effect. In the long term, you will have better results by adjusting your diet. You will find everything about a healthy diet in our articles about the “Zone® diet”.

If losing weight is your goal, it is better to combine healthy food with a Fitness program as we propose.

Certainly not. If you follow our nutritional advice and adopt a healthy diet, you do not need any additional nutritional supplements.

Healthy food in the right amounts and in the right proportions provides all the necessary macro and micronutrients that your body needs. The only supplements to consider are Omega-3 supplements.

Specific guidance or limitations

You can always contact us for customized coaching, advice, tips, etc. Feel free to email us with your specific questions or needs. You can do this by sending an email to functionalhometraining@gmail.com or by using the contact form. Together we will look for a solution to help you. This can range from additional explanation by e-mail, setting up a video call via Zoom, for example, or even looking for a coach in your area. We will find a solution to help you progress and achieve your goals.

Anyone can follow our program. However, you will have to take your personal options into account when using weights. If you are not sure about this, you can always contact us or ask your doctor for advice.

That will depend on the nature of the injury or limitation. Always consult your treating doctor. He or she can best assess your injury or limitation.

In principle, you can continue to follow the program, but ask your doctor for advice. Everything will depend on your personal situation and the stage of the pregnancy. From a certain point on, some exercises such as jumping, deep squats, lifting large weights or certain postures are not recommended. Your doctor will be able to advise you on this. We cannot and will not judge that.

If you have not exercised for a certain time or if you have trained a little too much, you may have some muscle pain. In principle, this does not hurt and usually disappears after 24 to 48 hours. If the pain is too severe, it is best to ask your doctor for advice.

To avoid muscle soreness, it is important not to force yourself, especially if you are not used to it. Make sure you warm up, cool down and stretch properly. Drink plenty of water and rest enough so that your muscles can recover.

As you train more and become “Fitter”, you will experience less and less muscle pain after an effort. Above all, keep persevering.

Community

We use the classic social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. to bring our message to the general public.

For our members, however, we use our own social media channel that is fully managed by us and fully related to the subscription.

We do this very consciously. We do not wish to expose our community to unwanted use of their profile for all kinds of purposes. Companies like Meta don’t always take privacy very seriously by using personal data for marketing, sales, artificial intelligence, or even political purposes.

As soon as you become a member of Functional Home Training you automatically get access to our own social network. Members who cancel their subscription will be immediately removed from our database.

In this way we guarantee open communication with and between our members.

Mental relaxation

Mental relaxation to prevent stress is very important. In most cases, stress or an impending burnout is not even noticed.

That is why it is important to protect yourself against it before it is too late.

We recommend that you try our mental relaxation techniques and choose the one you like the most.

Take a moment each week to practice that technique. Above all, ensure regularity. You will see that you will crave it even subconsciously. Your body and mind will be waiting for this moment of inner peace.

You can choose one or more times a week, as much as you want. You can do that in the morning, during the day or before going to bed.

Keep in mind that the average time you need for it is slightly longer than with the fitness workouts. On average you will need about twenty minutes to fully enjoy it.

My account

Individual members can choose between a “DailyFit” and a “WeekPlan” subscription. Various TeamBundles are available for companies or large groups.

You can switch to a different type of subscription at any time. 

You can easily do this yourself via the Timeline menu item. Then click Membership > Subscriptions. In the last column you can click on “Other memberships”.

Important: if you switch to another subscription, do not forget to cancel the old subscription, otherwise you will pay for two subscriptions at the same time.

All memberships automatically renew but can be canceled at any time. Request to cancel your membership at least 24 hours prior to the billing date so you won’t be charged. Membership payments are non-refundable. 

You can easily cancel your subscription yourself via the Timeline menu item. Then click Membership > Subscriptions. In the last column you can click on “Cancel”.

You can remove your account and a related account details. Log in to the membership management platform and go to “Profile settings / Account settings” and click on “Delete acoount”.

Attention: this action is irreversible.

Have you changed your account number or do you have a new credit card? Then adjust your details in your membership management platform.

You can download your payment invoices yourself. You can easily do this via the Timeline menu item. Then click on Membership > Payments. In the last column, you can click on Download “PDF”.

You should have chosen a valid username and password during registration. Normally you will have received an email confirming your membership. Be sure to check your junk mail folder. If you have not received an email, please contact us by email: functionalhometraining@gmail.com.

You must use your username and password to log in and access the member pages. Once your subscription ends, you will no longer have access to these private pages.

We know from experience that the best results for an energetic lifestyle can only be achieved by working in several areas. That is why we offer the full package of healthy food, physical training, relaxing exercises and healthy habits. Focusing only on one of these approaches has much less effect, so we don’t offer them separately.

As an administrator of a TeamBundle for your company, organization or circle of friends. you can manage the members who have access to your TeamBundle.
