How do you perform Weighted Bulgarian Split Squat?

  • Stand with one foot on a platform (e.g. chair)  and hold a weight in one hand.
  • Bend your front knee and lower your back knee almost to the floor while keeping your body upright.
  • Lower the weight vertically next to your front foot.
  • Push yourself up to the starting position.
  • Keep your abs tight and your back straight.
  • Inhale as you go down and exhale as you come up.

Common faults

  • Poor alignment of the knees and hips.
  • Excessive load on the knees.
  • Breathing not controlled.
  • Insufficient trunk stabilization during execution.
