How do you perform a Push Press?
- Stand up straight with your feet shoulder width apart.
- Hold a weight in each hand and raise it to shoulder height.
- Your elbows are pointed forward.
- Slightly bend your knees by bringing them forward.
- Keep your back nice and vertical.
- Straighten your knees very quickly and tighten your buttocks and abs.
- Push the weights up until your arms are fully extended overhead.
- Keep your elbows close to your ears throughout the exercise.
- Your body stays upright.
- Slowly lower the weights back to shoulder height.
Common faults
- Your elbows are not pointing forward.
- Overstretching your back. Keep your body vertical.
- Bend your knees too low.
- Bring hips back as for a squat position.
