How do you perform Shoulder Press Alternate?
- Stand up straight with your feet shoulder width apart.
- Hold a weight in each hand and raise it to shoulder height.
- Your elbows are pointed forward.
- Tighten your buttocks and abs.
- Push one weight up until your arm is fully extended above your head.
- Keep your elbow close to your ear as you extend your arm up.
- The other weight remains on the shoulder.
- Your body stays upright.
- Bring the weight back down and switch sides.
Common faults
- Your elbows are not pointing forward.
- Overstretching your back. Keep your body vertical.
- You help the movement by bending your knees or hips.
- Bad coordination.
