How do you perform Sumo Deadlift?
- Stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart and your toes pointed outward, like a sumo wrestler.
- Grab a weight in both hands.
- Lift the weight as you straighten your legs.
- Do not open your hips until your legs are straight.
- Slowly lower the weight as you tighten your abs and bend your knees slightly.
- Keep your abs tight and your back straight.
- Always push on your legs before straightening your torso.
Common faults
- Feet not spread enough.
- Raise weight by pulling ankle on arms.
- No straight back.
- Opening your hips too quickly.
- Excessive load on the lower back.
- Not good muscle tone in the hips.
